I set up Your Village Accountant after finishing maternity leave, after the birth of my second child. Our mission is to provide an accountancy service for small businesses who don’t want to use fancy accounting apps or have to buy software their accountant is using. These people want to record their business transactions in a way that feels comfortable to them – in a way that THEY understand! Here at Your Village Accountant we adapt to our clients’ needs and will happily process your accounts from a carrier bag of receipts, monthly filed receipts, a hand-written cash book, a simple spreadsheet or book keeping software. We are familiar with many packages including Xero, Sage, VT, Quick books, clear books and Quickfile. Whist we are happy to advise on software on the market we will not make you use anything that makes our lives easier if it does not help you.
We pride ourselves on explaining things in a way you will understand, and our goal is to take the accounting worries away from you, so you can concentrate on the heart of your business – doing what you do best.
We are a very small team and operate our practice from a home office in my garden. Whether you use our online or face-to-face options we will strive to provide you with a service where you feel that should you need us, we are just around the corner.
We do not treat our clients like a production line. Instead we take the time to treat you as individual businesses with individual needs. I am also a business consultant so whilst doing your accounts if we spot anything that could help your business we will tell you. We understand the difficulties that small businesses of today face so we do what we can to reduce tax liabilities.
